Sightmark APP — Wi-Fi and Location Permission

The Sightmark mobile application ("APP") accesses Wi-Fi and location data for the following limited technical purposes.

Wi-Fi Network Name (SSID)

The APP collects your device's local Wi-Fi SSID exclusively to identify the exact Sightmark device model connected to your phone and match the correct firmware package for upgrades. Each Sightmark product series has a unique default Wi-Fi name, which allows the APP to download and apply the corresponding firmware accurately.

All collected Wi-Fi SSID data is stored locally within the APP only. It will never be uploaded to the cloud, transmitted to any third party, or shared with other apps. No passwords, traffic data, or any other network information is collected.

Location Permission (Android)

The Android operating system classifies Wi-Fi SSID data as location-related information, as it may potentially reveal indoor or public location details. As a result, Android requires location permission to be granted before an application can read Wi-Fi network names. The APP requests location permission on Android solely to satisfy this system requirement.

We do not use location permission to collect, track, or record your physical location. No GPS coordinates, location history, or any other location data is collected or stored.

In summary:

• Location permission is required by Android to read Wi-Fi SSID data — not to track your location.

• Only the Wi-Fi SSID is accessed. No GPS or physical location data is collected.

• All Wi-Fi SSID data is stored locally and never transmitted externally.

APP Data Use

Wi-Fi SSID and location permission data accessed by the APP is used solely for:

• Identifying the exact Sightmark device model connected to the APP

• Matching and downloading the correct firmware package for device upgrades

• Connecting to and controlling your wirelessly connected Sightmark product

On iOS, location network permission is required for Wi-Fi-based device scanning. This data is not used for any other purpose, nor shared with third parties.

Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

• Access and review the personal information we hold about you

• Request corrections to your personal information

• Opt out of marketing communications

• Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions
